F20 Voice Button

Hi all - my first post about my first bimmer!!!

It's a March 2012 F20 116d Sport (UK spec) with the basic bluetooth and USB audio (I-Drive). Thing is, I have a voice control button on my steering wheel...but when I press it, or press and hold, nothing happens.

I don't think my car has factory voice control - but the button is there not blanked over.

So I suppose the quick question is, is this normal for a BMW? Do other F20 owners without voice control have the button on their steering wheel?
