Lets Schedule A Meetup And Drive
I'd really like to get to know some of the newer members in the Colorado area, so how does a meetup and drive sound in the next month or two?
I want to schedule it far out in advance enough that we have a huge turnout. So no excuses about not being able to make it! As far as the drive, I'm thinking maybe meet somewhere in the middle for most people (Denver? Suburbs?) and cruse up to Estes Park and then take the Peak to Peak highway. But I'm open to any suggestions. Let me know what you guys think... |

I'm a new member and this sounds good to me! I'd love to see some other 1er's and pick some veteran brains about the car.

I'm thinking mid September. Maybe September 8th or 9th, or 15th or 16th? Maybe even later so it's cooler? |

I'm up for it, but the end of August works better for me. My weekends in September are pretty booked up.

September 15th or 29th as well as October 13th are looking like the best alternatives for me. August is like a no-go at this juncture. That would be a nice route.

I am in. As a new member I would enjoy a drive with the other owners in the area!
I've done the Denver to Estes to Nederland and back route a few times and always enjoyed it. Great drive in my opinion. I vote late morning to early afternoon on the 15th of September. As a University of Florida alum, I need to keep my eye on the kickoff times when Fall comes around. |

I would like to meet some other owners and cars. Never done a drive with a group before but it should be fun. I'm looking forward to going if I can.

Ok, sorry for the delay. I was working in the Bay Area for the past two weeks. 65F every day. Miserable, I know. ;-)
Attached is a quick schedule for what everyone has said about working dates. Take a look and see if you're flexible. We can always do more than one of these too... Last edited by Caleb; 08-14-2012 at 06:02 PM.. |

Just let me know which day and I'll be there. Being a former Evo owner I can ask some of those guys if they'd be up for cruising along too. Just a thought if we don't get enough people or want some extras.

That makes 6 or 7 on September 29th.
I'm thinking that's going to be the day... Last edited by Caleb; 08-13-2012 at 11:47 AM.. |

Here is the route that I'm thinking. I have it starting in Denver just for now. I realize that a few people are coming from other places. So we can adjust a meeting point later. Maybe we could meet in Boulder, in a parking lot somewhere along that stretch where US-36 slows down to 25/30MPH?

I like the route, and hopefully we won't run into much "joy rider" traffic. During my recent mountain drives, I always seem to get stuck behind a large group of Harley/cruiser motorcycle riders. When I get to a passing zone and start to go around them, they all seem to flip out and speed up each time. I don't get it.
