Anyone in SF Bay area want to lend a hand for a good cause?

Spoke to Clint from Defenders of Speed this morning. They're a company that specializes in Mini Cooper parts out of SF Bay. I was asking him about the possibility of them producing an intake based off of the intake they have for the mini (which is by the way, the best designed intake i have ever seen)

Anyways, he asked if I could reach out to the forums and see if anyone would lend their car for a few measurements.. Ill post a link to their website where you can see pictures of the Mini intake. Its basically an open filter only allowing cold air from the (Pressurized at speed!) cowl area. Preasurized meaning that it will basically force cold air into the intake. I had the mini intake on my old car and it was good for nearly 30hp... On my mini, you have to remember were talking 15hp from 230hp to a total of 245hp. I can only imagine that on top of lets say 400hp from our cars compared to the stock intake we could make 25+ from a non restrictive truly COLD air intake with no heat soak?

I'm interested. I live an hour North in Santa Rosa, but I can take a cruise to SF no prob.

I've been wanting to go to SF but needed an excuse.

Nothing particular, We just discussed trying to make anything at the moment.. However Id prefer them getting an N54... That way I can buy one of the intakes!

Its up to you.. Its nothing thats a big deal. We just wanted to see if there was even room for such a thing, I would check my car but its in the shop getting new turbos! I can give you his email if you would like that way you can see what works for both of you.

Yeah, well the only shop out here that does cool things is known for ripping everyone off.. Not where Ill be shopping for parts

That and pot holes everywhere the size of Fiats! Haha. I used to live there too before moving to the wide open, nicely paved streets of Scottsdale, AZ!
