Installed this the other day...
So finally got around to posting some (cellphone) pictures. I got the Kerscher 1M lip from Stu @ BMR, great guy, awesome service.
The instructions were in German but luckily there was a picture. There are a total of 15 screws to mount the lip to the car. 13 need to be drilled and the other 2 use existing screw holes. I didn't want to drill that many holes so I ended up drilling 5 holes where it counts and used 3M exterior tape for the rest of the lip. See pic below: Green - drilled Blue - existing Red - tape ![]() I removed the bumper to make mounting the screw/nut easier but maybe it can be done without removing it. Just followed existing guides on this forum for 1 series with the exception of 1 extra screw on the 1M bumper which was a PITA to get to (had to remove fender liner). See arrow below ![]() Here's the finished product, excuse the lame quality ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The front is not a lot lower but because it sticks out more, it can scrap on gradient declines in car parks. Not sure how drivable it will be once its lowered. |

Looks good..Great job.
I placed the same lip under my car which is lowered 1.2 inches... No Go... Mine scrapes as it is, if I am not careful.. Don't lower your car if you want the lip to remain intact..

Well detailed pictures of the installation. I didn't know that you had to remove the front bumper to install a Kerscher lip. Perfect fitment!
I think every single 1'er owner needs a Kerscher lip IMO they make the front of the car. |

you don't have too but it does make life easier if you can't put your car on a lifter.

We that's what happened to me Wasn't damaged too badly. A warning to all I suppose. I can't believe it happened and I thought i was being so careful as well - i'd hate to imagine what it would be like if the car also lowered.Haven't painted it yet though.

I used to drive a lowered XR5 and was always very careful, but as the CF splitter sticks out so far, it make scraping so much easier.
IMO, the CF splitter on stock suspension would scrape more that most 135's without a splitter that are lowered. The CF splitter does look awesome though!

OT: But I have scraped my car several times, before I even lowered..
The 1M is deffinatly lower at the front stock, than a stock 135i coupe. Since I have lowered, I am super extra careful.. So NO lip for this Zuzette.. ![]()

Ha... Stu has been at me from the start to showcase the lip..
![]() Besides it scrapping, I am probably the only one on this post who actually doesn't like the look of it.. Don't like the " baseball cap" look it gives.. Looks good if you like that "bolt on" look, but not for me mate..

I don't care for how this looks. I agree with Joey, it's gonna get damaged with much real world driving.
