newb question on mag fitment for 128i coupe base model

Hi gang,

I need to get a winter setup for my car. I've settled on the tires, Nokian Hakkapeliita R2 in 205-50-R17. I have Nokians Hakka 7's on my X1 and simply love the grip of these tires.

Now i want to mount these on a cheapish set of mag wheels in black. I'm getting confused on fitment and most of the threads talk about fitment for 18 or 19 inch summer wheels.

So far tire places have stated that very little options exist because of the high offset this car requires. However, when i go online, i get a bunch of options, with varying offsets. I'd like to figure out who is BSing me.

For example, a local reputable shop is offering me a wheel with the following spec: 17x8 inch wide, 5x120 bolt pattern, 72.6mm bore, +35mm offset. It's a TSX model Berlin.

So bolt pattern is ok, bore seems ok too (i won't need centering rings right?), wheel is 1 inch wider that my stock wheels, but i am assuming the tire can fit on.

Then i saw a nice wheel from Replika, model R141 in black with the same specs. When i call Replika directly, they tell me this wheel won't fit cause the 1 series needs a bigger offset. They recommended a 7,5 inch wide mag with 40 mm offset. Who's right??

Then online, i get a bunch of different widths, offsets and bores. I am to suppose these wheels ship with the proper spacers and centring rings? Still the offset bugs me, spacers can only reduce a positive offset right?

Any help will be appreciated.

Spacers will push the wheels out more (closer to the fender and NOT the strut) and also yes for the 1 series its best to stick with +40 and higher offsets. Anything lower would require fender rolling and CAMMMMBBBUUUHHH!!!
