your next car
First let me say I WOULD have bought a 135i coupe, but it came out a bit late, and I ended up with a 08 335i coupe/sports/6mt ssk. I am still happy with the 335i but I am dreaming of a new car.
My short list is all cars with a redesign coming 2014 (?). I would like your opinions after owning a 1 series. 1. m235i coupe/ 228i m sport (4 cylinder) both cars slated to come to the usa when who knows, great reviews for the M hatch, good reviews for the M sport hatch 2. 2014 Audi TT releasing late 2014 as a 2015 3. 2014 nissan z releasing late 2014 as a 2015 4. Corvette C7 (if they finally do it correctly) I am NOT considering the new 3/4 series, I would want something a little more focused and lighter. I drove the new BRZ and thought the current Audi TT is more to my taste. Thanks in advance...............need to dream. |

I just bought my car in June, so it'll be a while before considering what my next car would be (unless something dire happens... knock on wood)... But it'll definitely be another BMW.

I really have no reason to replace my current car, so long as it continues to run strong I love the car and it suits my present needs...A few years from now? If I stay with a small car, an M3 or Cayman S...If I went full size, an F10 550 would be excellent.

My wife's next vehicle, this spring, is either an X1 35xdrive or the new Explorer Sport.
My next car when my 135i gets closer to the warranty being up will most likely either be the new M3/M4 or the new Mustang redesign that is coming in 14 or 15. Depending how money is looking 3 years from now when that happens a P-car might be in the running as well. |

M4/M3 or used Aston V8 Vantage. Or maybe a new 2M if it looks good. Or if they even build one, for that matter.

This. I feel like the new 2 series will not be up to the standards of the 135i, a smaller less powerful engine in a realitively equal sized platform is likely. Probably not going to be as popular among the enthusiest community and thus not having as much aftermarket support. So if you're looking for that, the 135i would be a better choice if you are looking into a BMW. Obviously there are other options outside of BMW, but I've never thought much of the TT, always felt like it was trying to be something its not. I'd personally go S4 if it were between Audis.
Personally I plan on buyin a Subaru Legacy Gt or something like that as my next car for a nice daily, and keep the 135 as my project car. Cuz the forester seems to be on its last legs... |

Some good thoughts here.
But I am really looking for a redesign. I tend to keep a car. My 335i will be 7 (?) years old when I purchase my next car. Thanks for sharing your ideas. |

I just bought the 135i, so I'll probably hold on to it for at least a few years... by which point, I'm sure the entire landscape will be different. But I'm guessing that there'll be a girl who wants me to get a bigger car, so I might go with the newest M5 that I can afford. Or maybe an Audi S4.

I am considering the below. If I went M2 or 1M, I would sell my 135i and get a daily driver. If I get any of the other cars, I will keep the 135i.
M2 E92 M3 1M 996 GT3 996 Turbo

I'm happy with my 128i convertible and plan to keep it indefinitely. My Suzuki SUV will need replaced, possibly in 2014 when the 128i will be 5. I hope BMW brings us the turbo diesel 4 in the X1 by then. My SUV's key job is towing my boat - about 2000 lbs. The little X1 looks it should do that nicely.

I am very happy with my 1M, but I would be lying if I said the notion of moving on hadn't crossed my mind. I will certainly test the new F30 M3 when it comes out. 4 doors and another 100 hp could be too hard to turn down.
Maybe I will just get a DD and seclude the 1M to track/fun duty. Or maybe I will buy an e36 m3 to build for the track and drive the 1M daily. Really depends on my work and how much I am able to get to the track. |
