I'd leave it like that pal, doesn't look bad, I bet it isn't noticeable in real life unless you really want to... seems you've done a good job... I wouldn't risk to damage the clear coat.

Yea I was thinking the same thing, it's not noticeable unless you're looking for it and I'd rather not sand and have it burn through, just take the loss, learn my lesson and move on

Agreed. If it starts to bother you that much down the road spring for a CF hood and replace it lol

Yeah. A CF hood would n mirror caps would look great on Jet black..shouldn't cost more than $2000 shipped and installed.
*Did you let the paint blob dry on there? It looks like a large overage. If you attend to a mistake with touch up paint you can usually remove the excess dried on paint with just a hand applied scratch remover or paint cleaner. I've accidentally removed some touch up paint with Meg's Ultimate Compound..it removed the entire paint from a filled stone chip. Since then I only touch up light micro chips myself. I'm very good at doing it due to years experience with small blemishes. However if they are large n ugly then I call my painter and have him Air Brush them. Best results for large ones...Have a professional attend to them.

Thank you for your responses, since I managed to level out the paint, I am just going to try not to look for it every time I'm outside of my car lol. I don't think anyone else will notice if they aren't inspecting the paint. I've learned my lesson and I don't want to get overconfident with wet-sanding because it's such an aggressive procedure, even with 3000 grit. I don't really know how much clear coat I've already removed and I think i'd rather not ruin the whole hood at this point
