Getting run around from CCW

For all those that have a set of CCW's for their 1er can you help me out here. I need to know the size of the boxes that your wheels shipped in.

A certain individual at CCW, who will remain nameless, refuses to try and ship a set of Classics for a 135 to a military APO address. They would be 18" x 8.5" for the front and 18" x 10" for the rear. He is citing that the boxes are too big for the restrictions imposed by the US Postal Service when shipping to an APO address. This restrictions are the box cannot have a girth, calculated by adding H+H+W+W+L of the box, of more than 108" and not weighing more than 70 lbs. I have done the girth calculations with a guesstimated box size of 25"(L) x 15"(H) x 25"(W) which comes to a total of 105" in girth. This should be an overly generous assumption for the box dimensions required for the wheels I would be ordering; read a hell of a lot of padding on those wheels.

Of course he is even refusing to tell me the dimensions of the boxes they would use for these wheels so this is why I am reaching out to you guys. If the boxes are what I assumed above or smaller I can have a forwarding service send them to me. If not, then I am screwed... lol

I appreciate your input guys.

That is what I would guess too which boggles my mind why they will not ship them to me. I just cannot have them sitting in a warehouse for 3 years while I am here because the boxes were just a tad too large.

FWIW, the floor tiles pictured are 12", so at most they are 24.25" square.

I hope those people do what they are in business to do. I've heard of some nightmare stories with wheel shipment though. Good luck to you!

Several individuals here have shipped via www.apobox.com and haven't had any issues with them. I am hoping to have the same luck.

I think that might be the way to go. What style are your old wheels and are you looking to get rid of them?

They are just the stock 264's. I am not going to be getting rid of them. I need to get a good set of winter tires up here.

I arrived in January this year on my Nitto Invo's and couldn't drive anywhere. Was going around a traffic circle at less than 10 MPH and slid into the curb. I have been driving for 19 years and have never curbed a wheel.

No problem glad you get the wheels, now the waiting is no fun. I had to wait exact 2 months.

I will have to wait 2-3 weeks for production and then another week for shipping.

I cannot wait to get them! If that time frame is good I might even be able to put them on before the weather turns to crap here.

Only 2-3 weeks for production? I wait 2 months for that and I am only 10hrs away from them, you must be lucky if only take a month

That is what they quoted me over the phone so I certainly hope it doesn't take two month!
