Looks great! How much? I am thinking of doing something similar, but the shop around that does it is a little too expensive for my tastes.

Gooby Pls.

The chrome OEM grilles stand out a bit too much for my tastes on the matte paint, but the car overall looks awesome. If that's a wrap, it's very well done. Nice!

Not a wrap, not plastidip. It's the same PPG matte clearcoat that BMW uses for its Frozen edition cars. My existing glossy clear was sanded down and the matte clear was sprayed over, using the original base coat underneath. There are five levels of flatness that can be achieved with varying amounts of matting agent, I went with level five (the glossiest, with level one being the flattest). If I ever get tired of the look, it can be polished right back to a full gloss finish.
Cost was around the same or slightly less than a proper wrap job. If anyone is interested, here is my painter's contact: Bob Cunningham (310) 940-5503 (cell) He doesn't always pick up, so leave a message. Tell him the guy with the black 135i sent you, he'll know. He spends most of his time restoring Shelby Mustangs for Historic Race Car series, but he's also a BMW enthusiast. He sprayed his own Estoril Blue E36 M3 with a level four, and with the pearl in the metallic base coat, the results are absolutely stunning. I realize wheels are in order, and there are probably some EC-7s in my future. But my stockers are wearing brand new PSS rubber, and frankly I wasn't planning on adding any "show" until the "go" was done. Unforeseen circumstances led to a unique opportunity that I would've been remiss to pass up. FMIC, oil cooler, and suspension are higher on my list than any further cosmetic mods at this point. |

I like !
Love the frozen look. I'm always looking at the special edition M3's (frozen silver and black).

Huge props for doing it the right way! I'm sick of these wrapped and dipped cars. Yours looks amazing!

Always wanted to experiment with a matte finish but was never keen on wraps. Glad you dig it, I'm thrilled with the results. The only drawback, at least for me, is the amount of attention it draws, albeit overwhelmingly positive. I imagine this wouldn't be an issue for some, but I originally meant to build a factory sleeper into even more of a Q-car. It's safe to say that notion has been unceremoniously defenestrated.
