New Turbos Installed!

The extended warranty clearly states that aftermarket tunes void the extended warranty. Although I had a Dinan Stage 2 Flash since practically new, my dealer agreed to cover the replacement of new turbos after a diagnostic check revealed low boost levels from lose and bent actuator valves. It took 7 days for the turbos to arrive from Germany and 2 days to install. Dinan software was reflashed and road tested. It runs very strong now with noticeably higher boost levels. I give BMW a lot of credit for standing behind their product. I was provided a new X3 to tool around with while I waited. 67,000 miles and my 1 now has new Turbos.

Great to hear. We've been selling more and more Dinan tunes due to this very reason lately. People are just to afraid of losing the extended turbo warranty. Even though the Dinan tune costs more it is worth the peace of mind for some.

Woohoo!

Thank goodness your dealership can handle a turbo install. The one near me doesn't know how to perform an oil change, or look up updated part #'s. I recently had to redo one of my turbos and told me repeatedly that the official BMW part # I was giving them, that worked everywhere else on the internet, didn't exist.

Have fun dude!

What dealer did you use? Really good to hear dealers covering bad turbos even when you have it tuned.

And I don't miss that that constant ticking sound off deceleration. What a relief to be driving a car that I can enjoy and be proud of once again. The 1 Rules!!!
