The car is LOW

I went over a raised, not that much, door for refueling by a tanker at a local gas station. It did not strike the front but rubbed on something underneath. I did not realize the bottom of the car, 2012 135i, was so low. Guess I will have to be more careful in the future. I certainly do not want to tear something up.

No it is not. That is why I was so surprised. I believe the front is 6.5in but I will have to look closely at the underside.

I just did a little rough measurements. The front, I will call it bumper, is 5.5in. There is a rubber strip on the left and right front that is 4.5in. I measured the point where you would place a jack and it is Front 5.5in, rear 6in. Approximately in the middle underneath is 5.5in. So depending upon something sticking up and if on the right and left of the object is lower, causing the car to be lower, I will have to be cautious.

Yes, the 135i is low, especially with the MSport option which drops it 15mm.

One has to be careful......

Yes I have the package and will certainly be more observant in the future.

And here I thought the car sat up fairly high. Granted I've been driving lowered cars (much lower than the 135i) for the past 12 years.

With that said, while I think a drop would make the 135i look better, I don't want to go back to the overly careful driving style of a lower cars right now.

i'm not even that low and I stopped over a speedbump waiting in line to fuel up at costco the other day. I opened my door to see how much clearance I had from the bottom of my car to the speed bump: one finger width lol
