JB4 - G5 ISO Dyno

Hey guys,

Finally a few JB4 G5 ISO dynos posted for your viewing enjoyment. Reviews of the new boost control scheme have been great and they plan to move it to BETA shortly! You guys will absolutely love it!

Quote:
The car is our 2008 automatic 135i with the following mods:

JB4 G5 ISO
Map 8 w/ 80 Additive
RB Turbos
BMS Downpipes
BMS DCI
BMS 2.2g meth kit w/ CM14 nozzle, running straight ethanol
BMS flash
BT Intercooler
CPE chargepipe w/ Tial valve
OEM catback
Fuel: 50% E98, 50% 91 octane

The main objective was to evaluate the new ISO boost control scheme along with some VANOS changes I've been toying with in the flash. Overall, the car performed very well. The new control scheme (using _9 version) worked perfectly out of the box with no tuning changes needed on the dyno. The VANOS changes on the other hand were a bit mixed. I don't want to go in to extensive details on what we're doing there but it's similar to what Cobb does on their S2+ tuning, and it resulted in average gains of 4-5whp at higher RPM along with improved timing stability. I suppose at this level a few free HP never hurts.
Attached are two dyno runs using the OEM VANOS tuning and one using the new logic.

If you are FBO + Meth the G5 Board will give you a couple of extra HP with more options but if your running just a tune then the G5 board will not benefit you anything. I

Go over to the n54tech forums and they have a bunch of info about the G5 board. They also list on how to purchase it on the forums. I'm sure mike can point you in the right direction.

The G5 is meant for full bolt on cars running meth and/or those with upgraded turbos. There is only one version, so on the site if you want the JB4 with the G5 you select the G5 board option.

You can also add the Speed Limiter Defeat (SLD) or the CPS wires as well but those aren't required.

Run it lol. People usually do 50/50 mixture. E85 + whatever you have around you with highest octane (93, 94, etc). I'm almost out of my first tank with the E85 mixture and I'm enjoying it lol

I imagine you have a JB4..
