Just picked up my Michelin PSS's to replace the run-flats as soon as the car gets here.

Ha, ha. I did the same thing! When I took delivery, I drove straight from the dealer to Discount Tire to have my PSS's mounted.

Nope- no rubbing at all. Had the same size Continental DW's on my 2011 135, and never had any rubbing issues with those either.

Great. I'll probably make this purchase come spring time. I put 500 miles on my RFs and took them off for winters. What's everyone doing with their RFs? Selling? Or keeping in case of having to give the car back/sell/trade in?

I should also add that after many different summer tires tried over the years, the Michelin PSSs were by far the best. They were getting a bit noisy @ over 20k miles, though, but they're worth it.

How anal is the dealership when it comes time to return the car from lease on the OEM tire setup? My SA mentioned how BMW will not accept anything less than BMW-approved RFT upon turn-in. I really do not want to shell out $$ to ensure the Run Flats are in their idea of acceptable tread life.

I own my car, so I didn't have to sweat it...and as you know, every dealer is a little different...but it seems ridiculous to me that they won't accept a better, more expensive tire upon turn-in. That said - I know how BMW is with their "Approved" equipment...so...depending on how many miles you have on the run-flats now, I guess the only thing you'd be paying for is the mounting and balancing. If you're current run-flats are past the point of "Acceptable" tread wear for turn-in, I would find another dealer who will cooperate, or just stick with the run-flats I guess. What a bummer...

Storing them in my garage for lease turn in. They only have about 25-30 miles on them. I sold the RFT's from my 2011 135 after posting them here.

Let's say if I plan on getting some PSS right when I get the 1er, is there any substantial benefit in changing the rims as well versus keeping the stock 18"s? I'm also planning on changing the suspension (either springs or coils haven't decided) and adding jb4 so I'm trying to juggle around with the numbers a bit..

The car itself doesn't carry the sensor, the TPMS system on the 1 series is the valve stem. So instead of having a traditional valve stem you have a TPMS sensor which informs the car of the tire pressure. No chance on disabling it, and no worries about tire compatibility with it.

A wider set of wheels would better match a wider set of tires though probably a number of people here just do a +1 on the tires using the stock wheels. Having 2 sets of wheels and tires means I can go from summer to winter or back in about 30 minutes on my own.
