Windscreen washer spray/pump

Hi all
Purchased a 09 135i and brought it over to perth from the east.
I'm gong over the pits on Tuesday......
My windscreen spray have no pressure what so ever. ( the front headlight spray works fine)
I've tried taking a pin to clean the nozzle.
Any other ideas? If its not fixed I will not pass the vehicle inspection.
Cheers

I have a friend who has a similar problem. He said that it could be mould/residue build up in the nozzle or the tubes themselves and used some bleach. He said that after he squirted the washer the water came out brown...

I'm not sure what concentration of bleach he used though.

I had a problem in a 335i that was caused by using dishwashing detergent instead of screen cleaner. ( Cleans dishes doesn't it? I thought ). Over time the detergent formed a sludge in the bottom of the bottle which blocked the pickup. I had to remove the wheel well inner guard to get at the bottle in order to clean out the grunge.

If you can hear the windscreen washer bottle motor running then see if you can perform an isolation test to find the blockage. Disconnect the tube from the windscreen washer bottle and see if the water comes out of - make sure you spray into something so water doesn't go everywhere. If water flows then reconnect the tube and disconnect it from the nozzles and retest. Hopefully, you should be able to determine if the blockage is in the bottle, tube or nozzle and clean appropriately or replace if required.

Am I the only one who prefers when there is no windscreen washer fluid in the bottle at all? I think I am OCD against the frothy watermarks...lol

I had the same problem. It's something blocking the tube/ filter at the pump. I pulled the tube from the nozzle and used a bicycle pump of all things to blow compressed air back which cleared it. Then I just flushed the whole thing a few times by activating the washer.

I'm not a fan of using the washer and definitely not putting anything other than water in the tank after seeing what some washer fluid did to the paint work around the nozzle on some cars.

Mine had alleged algae buildup on the inside of the reservoir- the headlight washers worked but not the windscreen- took it into the dealer, thinking it would be warranty work- alas no... as it was a "wear and tear" issue....

There is a filter in the washer line that becomes blocked. Clean and or replace it!
