hit huge pothole, need some advice
Hi 1addicts,
I have a 128 and am lowered on 135 shocks and Eibach springs. I also have stock 135 rims. I had a full car and couldn't avoid this huge pothole. Long story short, I drove over the pothole and the car at first didn't track straight. It got worse, and I felt some vibration, so I pulled over to inspect. My rear left tire had some ridiculous camber now. I had an appointment to make, so I kept on driving and it felt like the rear wanted to fishtail and when I applied the brakes, car would shudder. No crazy vibrations in the steering wheel. I also hear some thuds now and then. I tried to do a search, but couldn't really find anything of help. I tried Google and it would appear that it could be a broken rear axle. Maybe busted shock or spring? Anyone with experience in this matter? I would greatly appreciate the help, and if there is good information online that I am overlooking, I apologize in advance. Thanks for the help!

Sorry to bring this thread back from the grave, but basically I had a near-broken control arm. Had to pay basically 500 to replace it and perform re-alignment of "lowered vehicle."
Moral of story: when lowered, try to avoid giving rides. Also, **** DC roads. :P

Wow, that kind of damage sounds similar to hitting a curb. Are you able to get the state to pay for this in any way? I have no clue about this sort of thing, only that it isn't right to pay taxes and then for this to happen on a public road. Then again, I'm a strong believer in 'sh*t happens'.

The pothole I hit back in like June is still there... pains me everytime I see. DC has made zero efforts to fix it. I see a ton of cars dip and scrape over that hole.

Hit a deep pothole this summer. No affect directly afterward. About a week later started hearing a whirring sound after about 25 mph. Around 40 it got louder too. Now when I'm at 25 it makes vibrating and the whirring is 100% louder through all mph after 20. Took it to the dealer 3 times over the past few months. Told them I think it might be a wheel bearing. They keep telling me that its the tire. The tire has slight cupping. The only tire that does. About to put the winters on and take it back and tell them it's not the tire. Getting really tired of this dealer jerkin me around all the time.
