Ess tune with downpipes?

Hi,

I'm curious if anyone here is running the ess tune on an n54 with catless downpipes and can answer a question. Does this combination allow for readiness to be set?

I exchanged emails with ess, but they were understandably cryptic about it.

I spend my time on e90post, but figured I'd check in with you guys since the ess tune seems to be more popular over here.

Thanks in advance,

Honestly, I dont think the ESS tune is really popular anywhere... Dont know anything about that software, tho my guess is it would be the same as any other reflash.

The tune is supposed to not throw any codes once the DPs are swapped out, but I'm curious if it sets readiness.

I always scratch my head on why the ess tune isn't more popular. I love it

From what I've been reading most tuning devices can be set to "auto clear" codes, but this doesn't mean the system will show a "ready" state for OBDII emissions testing. What you need is an O2 simulator/emulator like the one BMS sells. This fools the DME into seeing a varying signal from the O2 sensors as if they were working normally, as I understand it.
