My tail lights have gone out....too
So,
Was just informed on my way to work this morning by a fellow driver that I have no tail lights. Signals and Brake lights are fine. Quick search here shows that this is a common problem. I saw one post reference a tsb. Would it be this one: http://www.automd.com/tsb/bulletin_b300499/ I am in Canada, so not sure if that applies for me as well. Have an email out to my service rep for what this will cost to fix. If too expensive is this fix something a regular joe can do? Is it as simple as swapping a bulb (I know they are led)? I am guessing not? Thanks. Edit: does anyone know if there is a more detailed TSB on this somewhere? Without having to pay at: www.bmwtis.com

^Ya, was going to do that when I get home. Was wondering though if the tail lights would be on a different fuse than the brake and/or signal lights.

My SR is saying there were issues with the rear lights until they issued a recall on the seals (which was done on mine). I thought the seal issue was more a brake light thing - or at least a different issue from the tail lights going out.
Can anyone confirm this? Does anyone know if the just the led can be replaced or does the whole light assembly need to be replaced?

So looks like the seal issue is related to the tail lights going out. Since I have no idea how long they've been out or if they both went out at the same time, will have to make double sure I check fuses - assuming there are different fuses for tail lights vs. brake and turn lights - does anyone know for sure?
The dealer gave me part number 63217285642 and 641 for the assemblies. The parts girl thought these would include the updated seals as well, but was not certain. Does anyone know for sure?
