Will these fit?

MB Alpina. 17x8
5-120 bolt pattern

+38 offset

I'll have 225/45/17 blizzaks mounted on these

I can't tell if the offset will work or not

17x8 ET40 seems to be the target fitment. You'll be fine.

Perfect!!
Thank you. I am hoping these improve greatly for the winter months vs my DWS set-up which I used last year
(255 and 225 staggered)

I don't think you will have an issue with a setup like that.

Perfect. Will I see a big winter advantage with the blizzaks mounted on those tires for my winter, square set-up?

vs
255/35/18 & 225/40/18 DWS tires mounted in the winter

Trying to justify a good deal I have come up at $400 for the rims listed below + 4 new blizzaks

DWSes are all-season tires that perform pretty well, for an all-season. If you want the most grip in the snow, you would need a dedicated winter tire.

Absolutely!
Will I see a performance increase worth $400 or so
from:
255/35/18 DWS vs. 225/45/17 Blizzaks

Kind of trying to feel out the difference and if those 30mm will affect.
