Extended Warranty Yes or No
My 135 is at 49,700 and I'm considering purchasing the extended maintenance/gold warranty package. Would you guys recommend doing so? I've had my car since 28k and have had no major problems so I don't know if I can justify dropping 2k for the maintenance package or 3500 for the full gold package.
Yes or No ![]() If yes where can I get the cheapest price on these.

I will be at this point in June of next year and plan to pass on the extended maintenance. My main logic is that the extended warranties are good deals for the manufacturer which suggests pretty strongly they are not good deals for the consumer. My other logic is that I can afford to even replace the car if it came to that, so I do not need to, in effect, buy insurance against car repair bills.
To me it makes the most sense if getting a big repair bill would be a major hardship. If so, then it may make sense to kind of buy some insurance against that big bill (or prepay a major bill when you have the money to pay it by buying the warranty). Jim

I got the gold warranty extension, but passed on the maintenance. $2000 for wipers and oil once a year wasn't worth it for me. Only way it would be even close to worth it is for full brake jobs, but no guarantee your dealer will agree that you "need" one if your keyfob doesn't agree. The warranty extension is worth it, I think, depending on how much you drive. I got to 50K in a little over 3 years, so extending to 100K / 6 years made sense for me. A lot of stuff can go wrong between 50 and 100K miles.
