Different TPMS Sensors ??

Hi guys

am buying a new set of Alufelgen rims and was wondering about the tire pressure monitor sensor and stem valves.
My car registration says that my BMW 135i is a 2011; but based on the VIN code it was build on 5/2010.

On tire rack, when buying wheels it will ask whether the car was built before 9/2010 or after 9/2010.

In short, are there two different type of sensors ??

Does a new rim also come with a stem valve or this is an optional item ??

Does a TPMS work with any rims specified for BMW ?

is there also different brands for TPMS that has compatibility issues from one rim manufacturer to the other ?
Last but not least, where is the cheapest place to source the TPMS and the stem valve ?

Thanks for the help.

There are two different sensors. Yours will have the older version. The retailer of those rims should be able to confirm compatibility for you. We sell the sensor for $40 and the valve for $8.
