code of ethics on badge removal
I've been wondering what the guidelines are for badge removal, if any. I've read some people take them off at their first mod and others leave it on the whole way through. I figured I'd start this thread to get some opinions in one place. Feel free to let your opinions fly gentlemen.

Personally I like badges, I don't run them on my wheels but I like the look of no centercaps, it looks more racey. But it is really up to the individual.

regardless of whatever car you drive, whether 128 or 135 or any vehicle in general; shaving off emblems and dealer stickers and anything of that nature is visually appealing because it removes a "break" in the paint and allows the vehicles natural bodylines to become more predominant. It gives the allusion of cleanliness because the edges/shadows/distortion of an emblem is removed, leaving solid color of paint behind it.
that being said...my badges are still on hahaha |

It's personally choice as to what you find more visually appealing. Do what you like...

Most people are not offended by any car removing badges... It's when people 'up badge' their cars to make them appear as a higher priced vehicle that raises eyebrows.
But in the end, the car belongs to the owner and should be modified to their tastes.

I live in the land of debadge cars(Germany). No one leaves them on their car bc no one wants their neighbor to know how much "extra" money they have to spend on a car! I fact, it is a no cost option thru all the German car makers. IF someone wants to know how fast a car is... they have to look at the car's brakes or exhaust pipe(s)! ![]() Btw... I drive a debadged 135i. ![]() |

^I was going to point that out...its a pretty american thing to use badges to show how expensive, or cheap the car is...from what I hear if you want a badge in europe you have to ask for it haha

Debadge all you want, its when you put other badges on, like the ///M badge or something your car isn't, where it becomes the problem for some people.
I want to get the matte black 135i badge for my car, but I know my re-applying skills are terrible, so I'm not sure if I want to risk it. |

Meh... it's just a badge. Do whatever you want, as long as you're not intentionally trying to make it seem like your car is more expensive than it is. I say that you can even use an ///M badge if your car is better than an M135i, as long as your badge reads something like "///M 135" or "135 ///M" or something else to make sure you're not trying to pawn it off as a 1M.

The precise code of badge ethics: you own the car. Tinker away. Arbitrary rules are bs, but beware the rice.
I was tempted to 128 my car too for a while.
