Center vents becoming grey?

Has anyone had their interior air vents start turning grey? I had the ones closest to the door replaced under warranty but now my center ones are becoming grey. Any ideas? I was thinking using that "forever black" stuff thats typically used on the E36 door mouldings.

Yup. On both my 08 135 and 09 128. I tired to get them replaced on the 09 when it was under warranty and the dealer wouldn't do it.... Tried "Back to Black"-- no workie...

Have you been regularly using a treatment like Vinylex?

nope and thats probably why. When I clean my interior I just use leather cleaner and just interior wipes for the rest.

my car is pretty much noobed out. The exterior paint is horrible from bird poop, pollen, etc. I try to wash it regularly but the next day its dirty.

Yep- it's a very common issue.

I'm going to try some Black Wow this weekend and see how it goes.

Perfect option for wheel wells, engine bay dressing, tire dressing and exterior trim pieces

Surflex Flexible Surface Colorant used to restore the colour of interior vinyl, Surflex is a flexible surface colorant, it’s water -based polymer pigmentation.

Does not crack, chip or become brittle with age, restores the natural appearance and does not look "painted". Will not fill in or cover up the natural vinyl grain pattern, remains permanently flexible. Wash and rinse thoroughly per label instructions. Let the surface dry thoroughly before proceeding with the colouring.

Yeah, mine look as if the previous owner sandblasted them. Looked at replacing, but if they're going to turn as well it kind of defeats the purpose.

Keep in mind the old vents are easily damaged if removed to paint, etc. The plastic surfaces are really soft.

Replacement vents aren't *that* expensive ($40?). Approach your dealer about purchasing at a significant a discount since its is a known problem and the car isn't far out of warranty.
