Which tires would you get
Fellow Addicts,
I am trying to buy the best tires I can, while keeping economy in mind. This is why I did not add the Pilot PSS. Which of the above would you put on your 1er. Thanks, |

I have yoko s-drives. Good economy-type tire for our cars compared to what I had previous which were PS2s. I can't compare em (so I am not going to vote one way or another) to the others though as I haven't tried the other three kinds. You will get a ton of feedback on the Hankooks because they had a pretty good sale on those on tire rack a few months back.

I've only run the stock run craps, hankook v12's in stock sizes and my blizzaks, but the v12's are pretty solid in my book. They grip great especially compared to the run craps and they ride wayyyy smoother. I've put about 3-4k on mine and have had no issues. They're quiet and didn't lose much of the initial turn in feel when switching from the stock tires. For the price they're great tires, assuming i get about 20k miles out of them.

Trust me I know this. I use economic in the meaning that the PS2 are $1200 bucks and all other tires stated in the poll above are are around $700 that are very good as well.
What I am trying to get at..is which are the best tires under the PS2. No reason to pay $1200 for something I am not going to use to it's full potential. |

How much cheaper are these tires than Michelin PSS? From my research I would only be saving around $200 so I just went for PSS because they are the best.
I went to America's Tire and paid $208 each for 225/40/18, and $250 each for 255/35/18. Last edited by Adam135; 12-30-2012 at 02:54 PM. |

Here is a cheap place to order tires in Germany... http://www.reifentiefpreis.de/Sommerreifen/ http://www.reifendirekt.de/Reifen.ht...ign=google_pkw PKW = car sommer reifen = summer tires You could ask a German tire dealer for "Barum" tires... they are Conti's sister company. In fact I would bet those Conti DW's say made in Czech on them! lol While real Conti's sold in Germany are made in Germany. Good Luck, Dackel

V12s!
I know no one will believe me but I have 35K on my V12s. Only those and my blizzaks. I had them on my first 135 for about 10k and now have the same set on my '11 for 23K since new. They've done we'll. They grip well and are smooth. I obviously drive like my Grandma though!

![]() Maybe it's me, though, because my s.drives went through 8/10 of their life the next summer. Also - Xcution, do what AlBinVA says and move up to 225/255 if you're on stock (or stock size wheels). They fit just as well, don't really cost more, and offer a bit more width and therefore a slightly larger contact patch than the stock size. This size up should have been stock size from the factory...
