newbie oil question

I just got the car 2 weeks ago and. Love it so far just today. My oil level is down alil off the max i read around and. I got maybe. I was a qt low so i went got the oil put it is turn on car let it check every thing so i added more did it again and so on tell i ran out of oil so i went and got. Gas went home looked at oil and. Its still the same am i really that low or is the senor messed up? Its. Only like 1/4 in off max just a lil below

When it is at min level that is a quart low. I would not put any more in, there is a whole process to checking oil I forget exactly, I believe you need to turn on the car Rev the engine to 1000 rpm for three minutes, I would have to get my repair manual out of my garage, maybe someone else will chime in. What I did when I changed my oil is I went for a drive until it changed.

Ok thanks. Ill check it again when. I have to go get the wife tonight and see. If. It chages im used to oil burn had a rotary for years. Just tryn to figure this out
