Hello,

Hopefully someone can chime in....

If I run spacers on a set of hubcentric ccw wheels.....they will no longer be hubcentric, correct?

Whats the ill effect?

I was thinking of only 1.5 or 2 mm spacers...

Why do you need 2mm spacers?

Was odd...not sure if a one time thing...but drive side had camber wear, but no scuffing....below is passenger side, and this was after taking a turn at like 60 (turning left). That being said, I don't know if it was getting scarred the whole time, or it just happened on that one instance, and was simply getting wear like the driver side under normal conditions - in which case I wouldnt need a spacer at all.

that was caused by the bottom of the KW (purple piece).

Setup is:

Front: 18x8.5 et38

Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R
Front: 225/40/R18

No it wasnt. You would see some sort of wear on the spring adjuster. I had a set of RCE TarmacII on my STI (Rebranded KWV3s) and i had the FL wheel rub on the spring adjuster. It was very obvious very quickly with both a rubbing sound and a smell of burning plastic.

I responded in your thread previously and my opinion hasnt changed. Your tires are well worn and a long stint with a bad toe/camber combination will surely lead to the tread chunking like that.

Also, there is absolutely no reason an ET38 8.5" wide wheel should rub inboard on our cars.

You dont need any spacer.

I thought if the spacer was 10mm or under it was still hub centric. At least that's what Apex told me. Not sure that would do anything to improve your setup though.

2-3mm spacer is okay. 5mm and 8mm require a hub extender for perfect fit. 10mm requires filing down the hub lip for perfect fit.

well...the ccw's have the "groove" on the wheel, which fwir doesnt allow for a smooth ride even with a small spacer, as the spacer can't sit flush? is this true?

Yes, afaik it's true, at least in theory. But I've never seen a post here or at e90post forum about someone actually getting vibration, and when I asked about it, people posted that 3mm spacers work fine for them.
