UUC Transmission Mount Review

So I decided to do a mod that pretty much all manual transmission Bimmers need...more solid tranny mounts. I did this on my E46 and it made a large improvement in shifting, and the 1er was so different. For those who don't know...the transmission twists slightly under load causing the shifter to misalign with the linkage. This increases the chances of a misshift for one. It also makes shifting gears less smooth. BMW tends to make theirs a little too soft to isolate the cabin from vibration caused by the transmission.

Installation was fairly simple. Remove small plastic cover, support transmission with jack, remove tranny brace, take out old mounts, put in new ones, reinstall.

Review: There is definitely a more "solid" feel to shifting. It reduces the notchiness for sure. It's not a night and day difference, but certainly noticeable. And there was no increase in vibration in the shifter. I'd recommend them for everyone, stock or modified. They're only $35 and there's no drawbacks.

Which mount did you get? UUC has a new "harder" version of the their tranny mount.

I bought the "black" mounts without the enforcers.

Do these increase NVH much? I'm thinking about going with a lightweight flywheel and would probably do these at the same time. Of course, the LWFW might introduce harshness on it's own...will have to think about it.

Anybody got an install pic or diagram on these? Thinkin' about doin it. A short shifter amplifies the squishyness. I've definitely missed some shifts at WOT and think these may help a little bit.

Any updates on the UUC mounts? I currently have the E46 M3 mounts on my 1M but I am thinking I can stand to go a little stiffer.

Bringing this back from the dead: I still like my UUC mounts. There's a little clutch chatter, but it's only heard with the windows down. I swear I don't feel any increased vibration though. Maybe I'm just used to it since they've been on the car for years.
