SES vs CEL
Sorry if this is a noob question but I just got a JB4 Stg 2 + Catless DP + Axle back installed on Wednesday. I drove without autoclear on the JB4 to see if it would throw a CEL for catless DP.
Last night driving home I got the Service Engine Soon (SES) light. On the cluster, there's no engine icon or anything so I thought maybe this was the "CEL" for the catless DP. I wanted to use the JB4 to read the code and I accidentally selected the option to clear it *facepalm*. Tried reading it once I got home and now it wasn't detecting anything. I checked my the onboard service schedule and I don't have anything coming up. Thanks for reading this and hopefully verifying if the SES serves the same purpose as the CEL in this regard.

SES is what you will get for DP install. BMW says you can keep driving on that. There is a CEL that means something serious is wrong and you should stop driving right away. If you turn your auto clear off the code will reappear and you can then read it.

Thanks so much for the info, this helps a lot. I'm assuming the CEL shows a big engine symbol in the main LCD in the cluster?
