This will cause micro scratches in your paint. It you are nto familiar with how to use it i would use a product that will soften the sap first. I do not recommend scotch brite pads at all. If you do need to use an abrasive on the surface use a professional product such as scuff pads.

I would try that Stoner's Tarminator, let it set up then try to gently wipe off the sap.

You may need to hit it up with polish to clean up the etching if there is any.

That's the problem. It probably would have come off if you did it daily or weekly.. but once every three or six months won't cut it. When i first got my car i parked by a bush at work that has little red berries. a little shot of berry juice got onto the middle of my hood and i said fudge it for 2 days before i cleaned it. in those 2 days it got slightly etched and was a PITA to get out.
