Squirmy rear end

When cornering -
I feel a bit of movement in the rear when cornering and getting on the gas (progressively) . Its much better post the Michelin PSS upgrade. But wondering if you guys get this too. I am no mechanic but would it be soft bushes in the rear? Or the e-diff biting? Tyre pressures are 38 psi.
Do you guys notice the squirmy rear under power??

With 400nm going through the rear on a short wheelbase car like the 1er which has a non-mechanical ediff, you're going to have a unsettled rear if you're powering out of a corner.

Just wait till you add more power on the thing.

squirmy???? Hell Yes! need to do a full m3 rear replacement

Just changed the 4 rear sub-frame bushes to M3 ones, this will solve your unsettled rear movement.

Thanks for that tip.....Thinking it could be bushes - Can you tell me where you got them? Any downside like Noise / Vibration?

The fix for this issue is to go to the M3 bush system great for a road car on road tyres.
But if you are doing track days and semi slicks go for the soild bush set up from Turner Motor Sport, at the same time go with the M3 arms or for track cars use the Megan arms.

Or if you can find one go the complete M3 rear with LSD and go from there, the sky is the limit with these cars

Have you just changed from run flats? The standard suspension is tuned for the stiffer walled RFT tyres. I noticed squirmy bum syndrome with my 335i when I changed over.

Normal for a 135i suspension. Try running at 34psi rear, 36 front. As others said, M3 bushes and consider an M3 FSB

OP the way you describe whats going on is how my car felt. The rear end felt as though it was held in place by rubber bands. Anytime you simply thought about getting on the power in mid turn... and the rear end would do funny stuff. It got real annoying, real fast. And I hated having to doge pot holes and man hole covers - bc the rear end would wag after you went over those.

I only changed my rear suspension bushing and upgraded to the M3 ones. I could not be happier. I even think the front end works much better now. The rear stays planted and never steps out or wags or wiggles when you get on the power in mid turn. The entire car feels MUCH more solid now.

Is it worth doing just the rear on a 135i 2013 model? even though I haven't yet taken delivery I KNOW this will annoy me. I'll be using RFT until they wear, then I'll throw on some proper tyres.. I've already ordered a new clutch line Lock Valve and performed the mod waiting for install I blame this forum.

Save your coin and do the entire rear end M3 upgrade whilst the subframe is out. 8 hours of labour or so to replace some rubber bushings doesn't make sense to me.

both you guys should consider putting KW V3 on your car, totally transforms the car, the ride height, and the comfort. Best thing to ever happen to my old 135i. Quite easy to wind out for a track day and back off for the city. Put just a little camber on the front wheels.

don't bother with the DDC option.
