2011 128i iPhone recognition

Well no one I this forum stepped up to the task of welcoming a newcomer. Can't thank you all for that. I previously posted about the difficulty I had with my 138i base stereo not recognizing my iPhone with my USB connector. I bought a OEM USB adapter off ebay for about 11 dollars and everything is working fine.

I just got a '11 and when I use the standard apple cable I get nothing. Did iPod show up as an audio in option before, or just USB? I only have USB in and would love to hear if you did too for the phone to work with the new cable.

Octo, you need an aux cable and plug it in to the headphone part of the phone

First, it might depend on the phone. I haven't tried with my iPhone 5 because the BMW Y Adaptor only works up to iPhone 4.

Also, I've had no problems with the BMW Y adaptor so you might want to buy one of those.
