Calling All NORCAL: Monthly Bay Area Bimmer Meet!

Dennis, the owner of Pit Row, has agreed to let us use his lot and facility on Sunday, April 28th! Not only is Dennis an extremely knowledgable mechanical engineer, he also worked in Munich for BMW before coming to California.

Pit Row is a "Do-it-yourself" garage with online resources, tools, and various lifts. Because there were several people on here that had parts they wanted to install, I thought this would be a great, low key event, a sort of "Installation Party".

Dennis has agreed to give people reduced rates for shop/lift time on Sunday. I will be making a separate sign up sheet for lift time-slots. They will most likely be in 30 minute blocks, depending on demand.

So lets get together, see some cars, eat some food, and install some parts. Mark your calendars for Sunday, April 28th.

Hey guys,

We've been talking about it for a long time but I'm hoping to get some sort of recurring meet together for Central/Northern folks in the Monterey, Santa Cruz, San Jose, San Francisco area. Obviously all areas are welcome, there's just been a lack of northern meetups in the past.

I don't mind organizing or sending email updates to people, but some suggestions would be awesome!

Meetup Frequency
I was thinking every 4 weeks or so, but I am totally open to suggestions on if that is too much/little. We can easily just meet up somewhere for a few hours and grab some lunch, or go on a drive if there is enough demand.


Meet Location
I figured we could very this. One month do Santa Cruz, one month do San Jose, etc. I think this would allow people who might be a little further north/south to attend on a more regular basis. Maybe someone knows the owner of a shop/local business that wouldn't mind hosting? There are endless possibilities.

I would say.... probably a month from now. (If everything goes according to plan, which so far it hasn't. There have already been about a month of delays.)

Sounds like a cool idea.
I've done mt. Diablo also and it's a nice drive. The view from the top is amazing. Keep in mind its $5 to get on the road.

South Bay is a little difficult for me, but East Bay or North Bay is perfect. I've never been up Mt. Diablo so that'd be a cool one probably less crowded in winter too.

I have a suggestion but it's in my area which is Old Sacramento in Sacramento. It's like small old town that worth some photos when we decide to go there. Napa Valley would be great addition though.

Thats for the signup everyday, this is already way more successful than I thought it was going to be. Is Fremont a location that would work for north bay folks? I figure people up in Sac or Berkley wouldn't want to come all the way down to the south bay, and Fremont might be a good middle meeting spot.
