1M Was Keyed!

Yesterday upon arriving home from a business trip, I found my 1M keyed!
I suspect that it was done by one of my neighbors!
So much for trying to maintain the original paint.

This angers me to no end my fellow 1M'er. I stress about my car all the time since the economy is so bad and there are so many idle, destructive douchebags out there.

This can be fixed and you'll be whole in no time. I put a scratch on my baby under 1000 miles and got a portion repainted. It will turn out fine.

Meanwhile, have a drink, bide your time...and if you catch this person in the act, please curb-stomp them for all of us.

I know how it is, there are a lot of haters out there. A couple months back some asshole decided to debadge my 1M. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise because for me that made me decide to rent a garage, and I was lucky to find one a block away!

What's wrong with your neighbor?! It's so annoying knowing that so much people jealous because they can't afford what you can afford. So hear that man, I know what it feels. In my previous college, my friend's lexus is 250 was keyed so deep until you can see it from a quite distance. Other friend's aston martin was also become victim, someone put a used condom in its front emblem. It's not cool at all.

I had 2 neighbours fighting in my old unit block a few years back, they one keyed the other's car, who then responded with squirting paint stripper on his opponents car! Some people don't know when to draw the line.

Pretty sure that I have the reason that this happened nailed down:

1) I rent a condo temporary (due to my wife's work situation) where the vast majority of people own (I own another house in another state and my license plate is from another state)
2) I work from the condo most days and thus I always get the best parking place (no assigned parking) due to my hours and to keep an eye on my car (it often appears that my car doesn't go anywhere even though I drive the car everyday because I leave after most people and get back before most people)
3) I didn't drive car much this week due to snow and ice on the roads
4) Massive rain storm Wednesday night and the suspected neighbor got soaked because they had to park in the second row of parking spaces (cry me a river lazy ass as I got soaked walking in from my wife's car that night as well)
5) I rented a car for an out of state business trip (why put the mileage on the M) and they saw me leave in the morning and got mad and decided to take it out on my car

I am 90% percent sure that this is my upstairs neighbor because they are (1) lazy (couldn't say that they have a job), (2) disrespectful (don't clean up after dog), (3) regularly park their car illegally or jam it up against other cars (both my wife and I have had to enter our cars from the passenger side before), and (4) are always complaining about parking (the walls are thin but there is no lack of parking!).

Additionally, they drive the worst or second worse POS in the entire community (which is generally filled with some very nice cars). The biggest kicker is that I have gone out of my way to be nice to this neighbor offering to take their groceries up the stairs, giving them help when they wash their car, etc.

OK. But can't it just be your neighbours but just an idiot who did that?
It happened to me more than I can count on one hand since I 've had my driving licence('88) and it weren't the neighbours. Never. Just drunk/lazy/jealouse idiots.

Normally, I would agree with you (this is the only reason I leave 10% doubt and haven't confronted her). However, the damage was most likely done in the morning and was done on the rear driver side quarter panel (only part except the rear of the car that I can't see from the condo) directly under a parking lot light. Additionally, I have overheard this particular neighbor bitching to her college age daughter about my wife's or my car on two occasions.

Also, see Exhibit 1 below. This picture was taken at lunch about a month ago between going to the gym and a meeting. Note that front row (the second row starts to the left of the picture) of the parking lot was empty except for one car several spaces to the left of where the 1M is parked. My neighbor parks right on top of my car while I was watching (almost hitting it and me almost choking on my sandwich). Also, note that the space the neighbor is in (also the space where I was keyed) is about 1.33x the size of a normal space (because it is on the end). She has actually gotten much closer (if you can believe it) to my wife's car.
