has he have traditional hydraulic steering or electric power steering? I believe it will fit if its the regular steering and if the 125i engine bay isnt any different then a 128i.

yes it will ( depending on what steering you have), but why?

Your european air intake box is lot like Afe Magnum FORCE Stage-2 Si.

I would get a new air filter: BMW performance filter BMW part: 13710445636 (from the Performance intake),
or K&N oiled Number E-2022,
or afe pro dry filter # 11-10111

And if that is not enough, do this type of cutting: http://www.babybmw.net/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=29860

Otherwise we recommend you get the full official Performance intake add on for BMW 130i/125i BMW part : 13720444748 ( it comes with the filter: 13710445636 and new cover lid )

I want to do it to add sound and an increase of 12 horses and 15 of the moment! put BMW performance makes no sense! pay big money for a meaningless piece of carbon fiber!

Paying big money to aFe is also not the best solution.

European normal airbox and this aFe box are the same idea. Save your money buy a new air filter, the one I mentioned above ( Official BMW or K&N or european aFe dry)

if you cut a hole in your original box AND use different air filter, yes sound will be better.
Just changing the filter will not change the sound very much.

Magnum FORCE Stage-2 Si changes sound because it has 2 holes in the side AND it uses a new pipe to throttle body. So if you want more sound, you can try to find a silicone pipe that fits in place of current original BMW pipe

Do not get the link you just showed (Magnum FORCE Stage-2 PRO 5R Intake System 54-11862 ) It has quality problems

If you want a lot of intake sound you have to have an airboxless intake as well, i replaced my stock airbox with an Injen and it's substantially louder, i can hear it over my muffler delete exhaust.

We did a baseline pull with 0W-30 synthetic aims oil and got around 210whp (Which is very good for a 230whp rated engine).
Next Installed the injen intake that bumped me up to ~218whp (on avg), the sound improved and we got some extra torques (6lbft to be exact).

AFE Magnum FORCE Stage-2 PRO has issue with MAF sensor location. Look at e90post for n52, there is lots of information.
If you want the same type of intake, yes get Ingen.

Otherwise, use what you have just buy with new filter, and think about cutting a hole.

Andrey you are absolutely right about maf issues on FORCE Stage-2 PRO. But it is not the case on the FORCE Stage-2 SI PRO as the intake tubing design is different.

Andrew and you feel though what that difference when installed K & N filter and box of 125, compared with a standard filter?

I cannot compare for a 125i.
The 128i has a different air box and it has an extra later of filtering to slow down the air flow.

I do know that Afe Si looks alot like the European airbox from 125i. The difference is a new air filter, 2 small holes on the side and a smooth pipe to the throttle body. This difference does not mean 10 horse power. It can be transfered to a European airbox by getting a new air filter, cutting holes in the airbox and looking for a smooth silicone pipe.

This is why I will install a european air box with aFe dry filter this week. If it is not enough for me, I will cut the european airbox the same as the links i showed you.

Andrew! And if you put a filter in the regular housing K & N and instead of slots in your install guide, it makes sense to take action on? http://afepower.com/shop/details_new...BA1&brandID=87
