H&R sway bars

I just ordered a set of front and rear sways for my 09 128 with non sport suspension. My goal is to keep the more or less comfy ride while cruising and add a bit of fun in the turns. Anyone else have this setup? I'm looking for feedback on how much of a change these bars offer. Also looking for a DIY for the rear bar, front looks pretty straight forward.

I have HRs on my 323ci. Very good. The bars will not affect your ride - only your cornering. My 323 has HR springs, Bilsteins, and a square tire set up. It's on rails for the corners. Just the bars though will help. I have Eibachs on my 135is. Again very nice cornering improvement.

You'll need a lift for the rear. You have to drop the suspension subframe to replace the rear. I had a shop do mine.

The bars will / won't affect your ride. On a smooth road, or where a bump in the road is even (ie a speedbump), each side (front L&R, or rear L&R) are doing the same thing at the same time, and the bar has no real effect. But do something that only 1 wheel is involved in at a time (railroad tracks at an angle for an extreme example but there are plenty) and ride will be hugely affected. Hitting anything like that at high speed can get interesting.

The trade-off is worth it, but the point is that the ride is indeed affected at times.

I'm willing to accept that in trade for reduced body roll and more aggressive weight transfer and turn in. I'm having a shop put them in tomorrow, dropping the rear subframe with the driveshaft, Fif, and electronics seemed unreasonable to do on my own

FYI for those with 128 stock suspension, there is NO rear sway at all. None. This is a giant pain

Is that a 128i thing, or a sport / non-sport package thing? Or maybe both?

if you have the sport suspension you have a 12mm rear bar. otherwise. nothin

everything is installed, im just waiting on the last end link to arrive and the rear will be connected. the front has better turn in already, it's just hilarious that the back will eventually come around to what the rest of the car is doing... damn end link! get here!

Alright! Got it in now, car feels firmer all around, really more confidence inspiring. I've only been in a short drive but over a 5-7mi it definitely feels like the sport suspension model I drove, a bit firmer though. Goal achieved. Only problem seems to be the bushings either are noisy by nature (maybe someone can chime in that knows) or they need more grease

anyone with the stock rear sway have a pic of how it goes from the bushing to the end link?
