Hmm, do we have this same plug on our 1ers? Would it do anything for a 6MT, or is it entirely related to how the AT responds?

It'd be great to get better throttle response out of a simple hack!

I think he is tapping into the DSC/DTC switch on the e60. I am also wondering IF those pins are vacant on a manual trans car. I also wonder IF this could be hooked up to one of the steering wheel buttons.

Interesting. Who will be the first to try it on a 1 series?

Whatever happened to that thread with the guy who was trying to decode the BMW "M" Dynamic Mode (MDM) for our differential... I would love to figure something like that out so that our abs didn't kick in.

I think I must have missed that thread. I would love to see the link.

Back when BMW first started to "update" everyone's SW (before the HPFP recall started and before the 1M came out) some guys speculated that BMW was giving us the MDM mode on our 135i's with the new SW update. Then we all started to figure out that BMW was detuning our cars!!

I know on my car when I got an SW update (the one that killed my throttle performance at part throttle, made my engine quieter but less responsive) my DTC/DSC light changed from the big yellow circle to the MDM skidding car. A few months later guys were reporting that BMW went back to the big yellow circle when you switch the DSC off. When I got that SW update (the so called anti-tuner update) I also noticed how my eDiff would not kick in as much when I threw my car into the corners.

My TPMS system also now points to a low or flat tire.

Here are the icons I am referring too...

There are 2 torque request tables in the DME, the sport mode just selects a different table, giving the sharper throttle response.

Would be interesting to know if this is possible on our cars. Is anyone with a DCT 135 willing to trace the sport button wires back to the DTC button?

IDK. I asked the OP of that YouTube video about that. He hasn't given me an answer though. I think its the same.

I am more interested on a 6MT car - whether this would actually work or not. I guess we are gonna have to wait and see if anyone will pull their DTC button off and tap into the wires. ?

I'd do it, but what kind of switch/wire would I need? just a 2-way on and off switch?

I think momentary on/off type switch is what he used.

I think it should work for MT also same like M cars it gives sharpness for throttle. I believe it should be something like different throttle map.

Definitely curious if it will work on MT cars. If it's just a different throttle map I'm slightly less interested, but I'd love to find a way to get the old eDiff/etc performance back from before the detune software.

I (actually)like the new SW for the eDiff/DTC it is the engine SW tune(bmw's anti-tuner SW) that sucks.

It seems to me that the new DTC/DSC cuts power less often and when it does its not so brutally on/off/on when it does. I like it. Maybeit allows for more yaw.. in a turn like MDM but I am not sure. I just know when I take my fav off ramps (at speed) the rear end doesn't fight me as much as it did before the SW update. Now the lack of engine throttle response is a deal breaker for me. I hated it.

The only way to get rid of BMW new engine SW (anti)tune is to get the PPK1 Performance SW or some other SW flash. That is why I went with a German SW/flash tune on my N54. I could not stand the turbo lag with BMW's new SW tune.

Hm maybe I'm misunderstanding how the eDiff works then. It feels like I have quite a bit of 1 tire fire on the inside during turns before it evens out power. I was under the impression that it was quicker on the uptake before the SW change. I also thought that this function was different than DTC/DSC.

I have the old icon! This is interesting, would love to see if we could get MDM mode.

I'm going to look into it this week and see if I can do it. It seems like the vent cluster/DTC button area is easier to get at on our cars vs the 5-series, it's just that I don't have a great space here in LA to really work on my car.

It'd be great to get some increased throttle response to combat the BMW anti-fun tune. Ugh, I just need to break down and get a JB4.

What wires is it again? 8 and 10? I can pop it off and short them together and see what happens. It will take 5 seconds.
