OLD PHOTOS:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Went autocrossing for the first time this past Sunday.

Had a great time at the San Francisco chapters SCCA.

Time wise, I was still learning the ropes. My fastest lap was 48 seconds. To put into perspective, fastest car of the day was an Evo at 36 seconds. And while working as the person handing out time slips, I noticed two lightly modded (suspension/wheels&tires) Honda Fits were hitting 40.

I plan on attending all throughout the season, so hopefully my times will improve. It also was a bit more difficult as it had been pouring all throughout the day.

I was ordering heavily into mostly cosmetic mods as of recently, however I just picked up an E93 sway bar from another member of this forum a few days ago. Might be tempted to lean towards suspension and wheels/tires a bit more because of autocross.

As you probably just saw at your first auto-x, the best mod is modding the driver. Put the money for the suspension into some driving schools / track days and learn how to use what you've already got to the fullest first.

That E93 M3 sway bar works great on the street but it may be a little stiff for auto-x and cause you under steer.

Thanks!! Yeah, a car control clinic coming up this month near me and I'm thinking about attending.

Definitely, I still have a lot to improve on.

Thanks for the tip!!

I remember reading about that somewhere. I really want some camber plates and wider tires up front. It would help with the understeer.

Received my carbon fiber lip yesterday, and I couldn't resist installing it that night.

Removing the old spoiler was a breeze, however getting all that old glue off was the worst. I can honestly say that was not fun, whatsoever. My thumb got burned from rubbing on the trunk so much.

The outcome was worth it none the less, with the help of Me and two of my friends I was able to install the lip perfectly. The lip itself was a perfect fit and finish as well. Which I am happy about as it was a $150 eBay lip.

Here are some photos!

Two good friends of mine from (@)keepitcity, and I went out today for a shoot. He made a quick video as well. Check it out!

Added OEM BMW Glossy Black Grilles a couple days ago too!

Black grilles are one of my favorite upgrades on any BMW. The video effects are a bit much for me, but looks like y'all had a good time. Have any plans for the intercooler opening, those tabs on the bumper would bug me

Car looks awesome, love the wheels and the stance.
Let me guess, with the et50 offset on the 18x9.5 rears, you have NO rubbing, even with the PSS tires right? I know a few complain of rubbing with PSS on 18x9.5, but those are on the et45 and lower offsets.

Great autox pics too, appears you had a blast figuring out what our cars can do well, and what some of our cars "opportunities" are .

Now I just wish someone could just drop a new LSD for mine on my doorstep and let me sort the rest out.. ha ha ha...

If you're down, we should do a photoshoot with both our cars, I've been trying to get some good shots of mine since I got my wheels and coils on but don't know any good photographers. Let me know.

I love the look as well. Makes the front look that much more aggressive.

Yes, I have been thinking about taking the dremel and removing all the tabs. I do have a spare bumper thanks to ilikebmxbikes. Haha

Thanks!! Yeah, it was about time right! Haha. Sweet!! I'll let you know.

I do regret not picking up those sport seats, I'm still looking :[

I am afraid of going to the track without those M3 subframe bushings. Powering out of corners feels so scary/rubbery.

Thanks!! I had NO rubbing on stock suspension/height. However, I am lowered via KW V1 coilovers, and upon installing new MPSS 255/35/18 tires in the rear. I rubbed very badly on a dip and had to get my fenders rolled ASAP. The fronts however have been fine.

I picked up the lip from this seller: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=111273483057

I took a gamble and picked up the cheapest lip listed for price+shipping. It turned out great, as the fitment, shipping speed, packaging, and quality of the cf weave looked perfect. I think theres a general understanding that Replica OEM BMW Performance trunk lips are nearly all perfect fitment.

I'm working on cosmetics a bit more now as I am finally FBO. So I picked up a pair of LCI Blackline Taillights. I have got to say, the tint is just right. Not too dark, not too light. I did not want the smoked taillights look.

I love it! Installing them was an absolute breeze as well. Probably the easiest mod for installation to date.

Comparison from LCI Blacklines to OEMs:

Daylight Shot:

Ever since Auto-X, I had been driving on tires that were inflated to 40 PSI. So I finally got around to setting the pressure back to the setting I like, F:37 R:39 with MPSS. I noticed all the tires were still around the same level, however the back left tire read 33 PSI, odd.. I checked the tire and did not see any punctures so I filled up the 4 to the proper PSI's and drove off. I had a nail in my tires before and heard a clicking noise, and after driving away with the windows down. I heard the clicks.

Here's the puncture:

Thus I brought my car to America's Tire Company in Union City to get it repaired:

Check out this sick E28 1st Gen M5 I saw while there:

That same day, I decided to get my shadowline vinyl installed by a shop in North San Jose. Found the shop off craigslist! Haha.

Picked up the Vinyl off a vendor here on the e90post forums. However I wouldn't recommend it as the installers at the vinyl shop said it was an old kind of vinyl, and the latest ones out now a days are much easier to apply. In any case they had to use "old techniques" to install it and it turned out great none the less

Next up, I have some Whiteline Rear Subframe Bushings inserts that arrived last Friday. I'm going to install them hopefully tonight or tomorrow. Looking at the DIY it doesn't look too bad.

Little update with some ass photos.

Added to what looks like a true iCarbon 3-fin piece off eBay. Fit and finish is 10/10!!

I also did my whiteline rear subframe bushing inserts. Gonna knock out real M3 rear subframe bushings once I go for an LSD.

A lot of things coming up!!!

M3 front control arms x4, Dinan camber plates, 245/35/18 Front tires, CCW LM20 wheels that are currently getting a professional polish and powder coat. CANT WAIT!!!
