A pictures worth a thousand words as the saying goes.....

Starting point Northumberland National Park - Falstone..

Kielder Water

And onwards we go...

First casualty on one of the many mountain 'tarmac rally' stages

Quick tour and taste testing on route

Further into Scotland we go

First departure from the main group, Mark and his M135i make way for Inverness to sort out his bulge issue, tyre that is ; ) The rest of us make for Loch Ness

Oil top up time & a bit of road surfing on the baron plains

Loch Ness bound off the beaten track

Loch Ness...... heavily fogged over.

Casualty 2

Loch Ness and the little M135i fresh on a new front set of Michelins

Making track for John O'Grouts

West we head...

Heading south west

Windy is an understatement

Ullapool region
http://www.ardvreckhouse.com/ nice place to stay.

Isle of Sky

Eilean Donan Castle

Commando Monument

Loch Lomond

Back across the boarder to some wet weather after a dry run around Scotland
Pennines/Yorkshire Dales

Great trip, hard on the cars but BMW M's are built for driving and not collecting dust parked up in a garage. Now in need of a new windscreen, that be number 3.

Thanks to Marcus for organising the great route and itinerary, Hetan, Mark and Jana for the laughs and driving company.

That is an amazing road trip! Thank you so much for sharing!

My wife and I did a road trip up to Ullapool for our honeymoon. I had a Mountune Fiesta MR200 and not the 1M then but I have promised her that we will do the trip again now that we have a car worthy of those roads.

There were so many empty roads with breathtaking views and scenery.

This was my favourite image from the trip...

Great pics mate. I'll be in Edinburgh for 4 nights as part of a UK tour soon. Driving from London, go South to Winchester, Cotswalds, York, Lakes, Scotland, across to Belfast, Galway via Sligo, Dublin via Kilkenny. Driving day trips from our various bases. Hiring a Jag Sportbrake for the UK leg and I hope it's up for it.
Hmm, maybe I should take out windscreen cover.

And I have driven a lot more In my wife's old corsa VXR we did the entire coast line of Wales (south to north) plus an entire coast to coast drive around Ireland and our old astra VXR took us from Bristol and followed the Devon and Cornwall coast and made our way all the way up to Morgate then back into London, plus it seen most if not all of the BTCC circuits around the country when I use to organise events for VXRacing. Not much more to see now in the UK/Ireland but go back over some of the routes I previously missed

Get out there, the country is full of top driving roads and many not to far away or weekender's.....

These sort of drives and the poor surfaces, plus one was at the ring. Luck I guess but a new windscreen gives a fresh new view on the trips to come

Great trip and nice car to be touring in, shame you dont have the time to do the entire coast line of Ireland as it sure is worth it. Take and old map book and hit the offbeat roads, plenty to drive in your intended route and much more enjoyable than hitting the motorways.

p.s. Kilkenny cream does not exist in Kilkenny

Stelvio's road surface is bumpy and poor, yes. But it has that OMG wow(pucker) factor!

I really liked Selle Pass, though. I am thinking we could do both this year.

The views are spectacular that I must admit and it is a place that needs to be done.

I took this pic early morning from the mountain hut we stayed in

If the opportunity to be part of the next road trip comes up then I would be up for joining! - Be it UK or abroad, would be good to meet up with some like minded people!
