HELP: quickest way to disable Procede v1?
i'm looking for the quickest way to do this.
can I just simply remove the v1 harness out of the Procede unit and put the bypass harness back into the Procede unit? what else do I have to do? do I have to remove the ground to as well? any pictures on how to put the vacuum boost solenoid hoses back to stock? going to the dealer and don't want to have to remove all the wires. I just want to completely disable Procede. please lmk. thanks! |

Uhm...If you like your warranty, remove EVERYTHING. They can and will dig around your ECU box, and if they see any "extras" in there. They will void your warranty. If you do a search in the forums you will see others who have went in leaving signs of a piggyback, and their warranties were voided. Eventhough they went in for NON-related warranty work.
I.E. a member went in for a sunroof malfunction and they found an engine mod and voided his warranty. |

Depends on what your going in for. Routine service, you can just use the bypass plugs and remove the power and ground. As far as the solenoids go, if you search you'll find the proper configuration. I think the one with the "t" goes more towards the rear.

But on the otherhand, if they come accross an issue where an update is mandated.....such as the oil service code won't clear.....then you're right....they will do an update.

ok, so here's what i did:
1. removed the V1 harness 2. installed both bypass plugs 3. removed the ground and the power 4. put boost solenoid hoses back in their proper location Started it up and got the following errors: 1. limp mode 2. P0238 Turbocharger boost sensor A circuit high 3. service engine light tried troubleshooting and couldn't figure it out. so reconnected the Procede and all of the other connections and the car runs fine and strong. no errors whatsoever. frustrating! I spent hours trying to figure it out but to no avail. arghh...what could it be??? |

Double check your wiring, especially pin 10. Also, make sure that the ecu is fully seated and the sliders are in place.
The yellow wire that went into pin 10 (which gets connected to green PROcede loom) has the number 1324 stamped on it. The yellow wire that went into pin 29 (which gets connected to white PROcede loom) has the number 494 stamped on it. The yellow/white wire that went into pin 6 on the small ecu connector (which gets connected to one of the yellow PROcede looms) has the number 525 stamped on it. The yellow/white wire that went into pin 7 on the small ecu connector (which gets connected to the other yellow PROcede loom) does not seem have any number stamped on it (at least on the few cars I looked at). There... this should get you back to stock. |

this can't be it. if it was, then how do you explain the Procede working just fine when I hooked everything back up? if it were a wire mix-up, the installed procede wouldn't have worked either. besides, i didn't remove any of the ECU connectors. i only removed harness and installed the bypass plugs. |

finally figured it out! USER ERROR! Arghhh.
After I disconnected everything and installed the bypass plugs, I only "hand tightened" the ground that the Procede v1 was one connected to. It had to be tightened well in order to avoid any service engine or limp codes. I figured it out by pure luck. when I was putting the Procede back in after giving up, I was tightening the ground and when it was snug, I heard the ECU make a noise as if it was recognizing the Procede unit. So i immediately removed everything and installed the bypass plugs and firmly tightened the ground nut and VOILA! it started fine w/ no codes. ahh, what a rookie mistake!!! hopefully someone will learn from my mistake. |
