SSTT causes HPFP Failure?

Right after I got a new fuel pump I installed an SSTT. Now 2.5k later I'm getting long cranks again. Could my SSTT be causing this?

Also, for those with SSTT, JBx, XEDE, do your cars use more oil than normal? I had to put a quart of oil in my car last week and I've never had to put oil in in between services before the SSTT.

No issues when I was running SSTT.Maybe just got another bad HPFP.I thought your other pump went out right before you installed the SSTT.You probably just got another bad pump.

SSTT probably isnt doing anything to it, they just suck in general

It probably has nothing to do with your tune as the SSTT does not touch the fuel trim settings at all....

LOL funny thread. I've had SSTT for over a year, no HPFP failures so far.. what does this "crank" sound like?? I was always curious about that..

^Ohh please let me give it a try. lol here is what it sounds like.

on startup your car would just sit there and crank. ok here it goes.

crank,crank,crank,crank,crank,crank,crank,crank,cr ank,crank,crank,crank, and then VROOMMMMMMM. Can you hear it now??

guess maybe i did just get another bad pump... great. another 3 day wait while BMWNA authrorizes the PUMA case.

i've had the sstt in my car... never cause a problem............took it out though, year later am getting long cranks... so doubt its the sstt

I doubt its the SSTT.I would bet my house and car the SSTT has nothing to do with it.The stock HPFP just plain sucks.

Crazy to stumble on to this thread now, after having my sstt for a couple- three months and long cranks for about three days now? I was just telling my kids last night that BMW might be going to the doctor for a new hpfp pretty soon. "Oh, poor BMW" they said. I think they are cringing a little now as it cranks and cranks.

I am not sure it there's a connection but I had the same problem and now it's gone after taking it off and a software upgrade at the dealer.
