Did an entire cooling system Flush + coolant additive

Still trying to get ready for this year's track events. I used prestone super radiator flush, and ran the heater, to help clean out the heating core. I then used a 30/70 mixture of Total Auto Supra (extended life coolant). Dropped in some Gunk Liquid Kool coolant additive. Currently running a good 5 degrees cooler oil temps. I strongly recommend this service, once over 50K miles. I'm currently at 80K miles myself.

Straight distilled water?

I added the RP Purple ice and didn't see much change in the oil temps. Then again I wasn't expecting much.

Well depends what you are running. With glycol and water mix is not optimal for performance in hot weather.

I guess I should rephrase the question. The BMW coolant (which is too be mixed with distilled water 50/50) doesn't provide any lubrication/etc for the system?

I have no interest in antifeeze, just max cooling.

I flushed mine a few weeks ago but did the 50/50 mix with BMW coolant and distilled water and a splash of Purple Ice.

is distilled water with purple ice or watervwatter.

Yep. Just ethylene glycol.

Should have done distilled water and water wetter. Darn.

The lubrication from coolant might be an issue, although these coolant additives have come a long way, and now provide lubrication, and even corrosion inhibition for most metals. However, you can run a low coolant percentage, just because it does get kindda cold sometimes in florida, during the winter 30/70 should be fine, then add a coolant additive.

how about a DIY on the coolant flush... searched and didn't see one.

Did you have to drop the FMIC? did it fill very close to capacity? I need to do this soon.
