Do anyone have experience with the Bosch coils for the 1M. I recently had a misfire on cylinder 4 and I'm going to replace the spark plugs and coils. I just cracked 80,000km and owned the car from new.

BMW in Calgary quoted me over $1300 for the 6 plugs and 6 coils. $48.88 for each plug and $166.72.

Do anyone have much experience with the Bosch replacement coils? I only put on about 2000km a year at this point.

Thanks,

Hey everyone!
My friend passed away and he left the 1m with 81k miles for me...I've driven a 98 camry for most of my life so this is quite the jump. I do most of the maintenance on my camry myself (the simple stuff), so I want to make sure I stay on top of the maintenance (no records of any maintenance). I have just done oil change and filter (I stuck with castrol as rec'd by BMW, but is there any other oils that are ok with the n54? Castrol is a little hard to get where I am currently).
This my list so far: (in no order)
1. Engine and cabin air filters
2. Brake Fluid (Having a shop do this)
3. Spark plugs (I think I can do this?), only done it on a 4cyl camry where everything is super open, but I imagine a noob can do it on the 1m I hope
4. Transmission fluid change - L5-5 BMW Fluid
5. Differential fluid change (never done this before, But I think it should be easy?)
6. Power steering fluid (will have shop do it)
7. Coolant flush

In my not sure section:
1. Walnut blast
2. Serpentine belt
3. Water pump, thermostat
4. Metal charge pipe (not sure what brand)

Let me know of your thoughts? Also on idle it does a ticking sound, I read around and it seems this is normal on the n54, but Just wanted to make sure...It's ONLY on idle, drives fine, no codes.

Stock turbos same as Mitsubishi?

I have an oil feed line leak and will likely be having all of the oil and coolant lines replaced. This is a turbo out job so I’m wondering if I should get the turbos changed while they’re out and save on the labor. Car has 54k miles, stock tune.

I have an oil feed line leak and will likely be having all of the oil and coolant lines replaced. This is a turbo out job so I’m wondering if I should get the turbos changed while they’re out and save on the labor. Car has 54k miles, stock tune. Is this worth doing now or should I just have them put the turbos back in?

I see genuine turbos are $2700 each plus core charge, which is ridiculous. But apparently Mitsubishi is the OEM supplier and makes the stock turbos for bmw. But theirs are $1100 and no core required. Does anyone know if these are the exact same turbo as the genuine bmw but without the stamping? I have confirmed they’re made in Germany, so it may be out of the same factory. Let me know if anyone has dealt with this yet.

Thanks
