Why do you keep saying this...they've also confirmed you can run 17x8.5 40ET in the rear with a 245, but no wider. So if that is enough for you, than what's the problem?
If you're not willing to dial up the ride height a bit to eliminate any slight rub in the front you're having (if you even have any)... run 235s in wider-running tires, or select tires that are true 245s.
