I've heard horror stories, but my personal experience has been great. I happen to have a good relationship with my SA at the BMW dealer at which I bought the car used (in fact she referred me to Dinan, which is a local company for me  ), and had a few engine-related repairs done (as well as continued factory maintenance) even with a few Dinan parts and a tune. Agreed, for whats its worth. My local dealership who is not a Dinan installer told me that Dinan is ok in their book and that if I ever had a problem, it would be no problem to fix. I would simply bring it in to a dealership who was a Dinan installer and let them hash it out together. In the end, whatever broke... would be fixed.
