Water pump failure here too
Had problems initally with temp warning and limp mode. Shutting off/on engine and I could go on for one to 50 miles without another problem!!
BMW dealer checked and the WP didn´t get info from time to time and therefore alarmed. Finall bill at shop incl work = $ 920 in Sweden with 10% discount
