Some reported that some dealers first told them that they're not aware of this issue because the part # are still the same. Few initially even denied retrieving the PuMA in their system until the 1M owner quoted them the PuMA #.
Fender liners are definitely
"optimized". The replacement is not invoiced. No paper trail.

Likely explanation of the issue: the
"indent zone" of the fender liner should be sitting a little lower, more particularly in the tire
versus fender liner
"contact zone". Could be an indication that BMW 1M test mules may have had less ground clearance (different suspension height ? 18" wheels ?) than the spec of the 1M that went into production in the end ? 1M's sitting a little lower (which had a suspension 'drop') might be less prone to the issue.
