It's not exactly complex math to figure out how to get a given ethanol concentration (ex. E50, E20, E70) starting with only an 85% mix. You can do this with a 3rd grade math education. Using E85 as the base stock and mislabeling a 50/50 mix of gas as "E50" makes me want to gouge my eyes out

You're right, I did not consider the fact that E85 is only 85% Ethanol. So 50% E85 and 50% 91 would not be exactly E50, but it is not that far off considering regular gasoline is already 10% ethanol, right or wrong? I never said you will have and accurate mix everytime, that would be impossible unless you are filling up your tank with the same amount of gas every single time you pump.
