Update please.
I realize this hasn't been updated in a while but my roomate has identical symptoms.
Did you ever resolve this? Was it the board? I unistalled and re-installed the JB4 twice to confirm it only makes the noise and throws 2FBE code with it installed.
Always possible I messed up the install twice but I have had the JB2, JB3, and JB4 installed a dozen times on my own 335 without a hitch, so I feel pretty confident with it at this point.
