Yea... no tweeters at the top of the doors(triangle) are base stereos. My car is like that. I've been considering the Alpine kit too.
There should be a sticker under the hood(or door jam) that says: "this vehicle confirms to XXXX model year specs".

100% certain. Car is build date 6/23/2010, but has an n55 and DCT tranny. Neither of these are available in 2010 model year vehicles here in the states. Quick google of the VIN and looking over the title confirms it. It's an early build 2011 model.
I think it's been mentioned on various threads on here regarding the base stereo that it was the default option on 2010 and some early 2011 models. Electricity VP mentions it on his site here
