I think most dealers charge about four to five hours labor(rate) plus the parts. Most guys on the forum end up paying around $1,100 for everything(pump. e-stat, coolant). The OFH gasket runs about $500 - I think. ?

Har. This is Hawaii and highway piracy is normal. Lucky we live in Paradise.

The dealer quoted me $1,550 (parts and labor) just for the water pump. The place I went to (Bavarian Motor Experts) charged me $691 for the water pump, $194 for the thermostat, and $484 labor to replace both, plus $300 or so for related parts including a hose coolant oil cooler to t/stat, hose radiator top, hose vent radiator-coolant tank, gaskets, coolant, etc. It was $638 labor to remove, reinstall & reseal the OFH gasket plus parts. I've no idea what the dealer would have charged for everything but just isolating the water pump BME saved me money, not as much as I'd hoped, but some. I'm guessing the dealership would have hit me for close to $3 grand for everything. I also had them do a complete diagnostic on the car which cost $110. That let me know I'll need control arm bushings soon too. I was too depressed to ask how much that will cost. And the car has only 15,500 miles on it.
