It's attached to the charge pipe, lubricate it with WD40 or similar and wiggle it out. I usually push the charge pipe down and pull the fan up.

FWIW, I REALLY struggled getting the fan out the first time because of how snug everything was fitted. What whatever reason, after getting it out the first time, everything slips back into place much easier, and I can pull the fan in like 15 minutes.
